Ethernet connection Desktop

Hi,

I recently made a fiber internet contract with KPN. The WiFi works fine. However the router is in the metering room and I’d like to connect my desktop computer (in my office) via ethernet cable to the internet. How can I do this? There are no ethernet sockets in the walls. Or at least not installed.

Hi @ClaudioN, welcome here. For the best connection, lay a cable. Maybe you can run it along the baseboard or something like that. If running a cable is not possible, you can use a home plug set. This consists of two adapter you place in a regular electrical socket. One near the router, the other near the computer. Both adapters are then connected, with a short ethernet cable to the device they are near. The signal will then be transmitted through the electrical network. There are several brands of these, we sell the Devolo 1200.
