Experia Box v8 - just 50Mb wifi onthe line 200Mb

My Experia Box v8

from the box : wifi speed only 50Mb wifi

but my contracted line changed yesterday to 200Mb.

 

Do i need to change the new verson Experia Box?

( Wired speed test download 70 Mb, upload 90Mb)

 

the lan cable from optical into the Experia box : CAT.6

Unfortunately KPN does not replace the V8 when it is not broken.

As the V8 only has 802.11n wifi on 2.4GHz speeds of 200Mbps over wifi can't be reached.

What you need is a wifi accesspoint that supports 802.11ac on 5GHz.

 

Have you already tried the wifi manager from KPN?

When you are lucky it might propose to send two Experia WiFi's for free.

 

When you only have 70Mbps downstream through a wired computer then that is not as it should be. Was the computer connected directly to the V8?

yes, the computer connected with V8 directly.

only upload almost 90 Mb

Download 44~70 Mb

I Tested 3 other network cable about only 1 meter.

3 different lan cable result was all the same. no improved at all.

I hope that an employee of KPN will respond soon as you should always measure at least 200Mbps on a wired computer with https://kpn-itns.speedtestcustom.com.

Do i have to call KPN service with 50 euro for the  technicus reservation to visit my house?

You can call customer service at 0800-0402 or just wait for a KPN moderator to respond.

I decide to move to other Internet provider.

I think that is very strange the policy “no change process old V8” that was used from 2016.

I think for some long term used customer need to have the benefit to be replaced new V10.

I hope to see you again with KPN for next time.

I'm afraid that we can't change the V8 for a new modem unless we conclude that it's actually broken as @wjb mentioned.
I'd like to take a look at your connection to see if I can see any problems with it.  Could you fill in your profile and let me know when you did?
