Om dan nog maar even een topic te openen: wanneer wordt OnePlus eindelijk geaccepteerd op de VoLTE infrastructuur? Er wordt nu al ruim 2 jaar door allerlei klanten gevraagd om support voor de telefoons van OnePlus die toch vrij gangbaar zijn. Vooral omdat het eigenlijk een kwestie is van dit model toestaan op je netwerk, snap ik deze onwil van KPN niet hierin. Andere providers kunnen dit voor OnePlus toestellen wel activeren dus een technische beperking kan het ook niet zijn.Wanneer kunnen wij eindelijk support verwachten op onze telefoons want het wordt eerlijk gezegd een beetje te belachelijk om na 2 jaar nog steeds het officiële antwoord te horen dat "KPN ermee bezig is" en dat "je de lijst van ondersteunde toestellen in de gaten moet houden". Zeker aangezien ik KPN gewoon elke maand een leuk bedrag betaal voor zowel de telefoon als het abonnement.KPN zwengelt de 5G molen al aan maar heeft op 4G nog niet eens de volledige functieset geactiveerd... Dat is wel scheef, toch? ;-)Om nog maar te zwijgen over VoWifi...

Ik heb het antwoord gemarkeerd inderdaad omdat ik geen reactie meer heb gehad. Daarbij is het ook het antwoord. Maar ik zal dit antwoord markeren omdat dit echt zegt hoe het precies zit. Want bij deze nog een soortgelijk antwoord na navraag: OnePlus is een bedrijf dat zich wereldwijd tot nu toe voornamelijk heeft gericht op retail (verkoop online en via onafhankelijke winkels) en niet zo zeer op verkoop in combinatie met abonnementen. De toestellen die ze uitbrengen zijn theoretisch vaak wel geschikt voor de meest moderne technieken zoals VoLTE, VoWiFi en ook 5G, maar om die techniek werkend te krijgen is pér provider een wijziging van de instellingen nodig, en aansluitend een test-proces om te verifiëren of alles ook goed werkt. En juist hierin loopt OnePlus een beetje achter, waardoor (wereldwijd) lang niet alle providers/operators/netwerken optimaal samen kunnen werken met OnePlus toestellen. Wij willen OnePlus zelf ook in de toekomst in ons assortiment opnemen, maar zullen dat niet doen zolang er via deze toestellen niet volledig van onze diensten gebruik gemaakt kan worden. We zijn hierover al geruime tijd in gesprek met OnePlus en hopen dat we hier op korte termijn samen uit gaan komen zodat OnePlus gebruikers ook daadwerkelijk de modernste technieken kunnen gebruiken bij een KPN abonnement. Een van de eerste en belangrijkste daarin is 4G Bellen (VoLTE), dat betrouwbaar moet werken voordat straks begin 2022 ons 3G netwerk gesloten wordt. Maar OnePlus gebruikers willen natuurlijk ook dat hun telefoon de volledige snelheden van ons netwerk kan benutten (zowel op 4G als 5G), ook daar heeft OnePlus nog wat werk te verzetten.

Step 2 - Enable VoLTE and VoWIFI
In Phone app dial *#800# - this will open the OnePlusLogKit app
In OnePlusLogKit app go to Function Switch menu and enable VoLTE switch, VoWifi switch and VT switch

Step 4 - enable engineer mode and test connection

In Phone app dial *#801# this will open EngineerMode
In EngineerMode app enable engineer Mode toggle and connect phone to PC

test connection - run this in the cmd window: EfsTools.exe efsInfo
This should report back some info if everything is working

Step 5 - disabling mcfg
Extract EfsTools, and make sure the mcfg_autoselect_by_uim file is there. Now simply run this in the cmd window, one line at a time:

EfsTools.exe writeFile -i mcfg_autoselect_by_uim -o /nv/item_files/mcfg/mcfg_autoselect_by_uim
EfsTools.exe writeFile -i mcfg_autoselect_by_uim -o /nv/item_files/mcfg/mcfg_autoselect_by_uim -s 1

If everything worked you should see no error messages.

Step 6 - writing mbn

First you need to find an working MBN file for your carrier, this is done by going in firmware_mnt and looking for the mbn files with and root explorer
For my carrier i'm using the india vodafone mbn file wich is already present in the efstools zip i provided, if this is not working for you upload the firmware_mnt folder and i will upload and update this guide with all the mbn files. I am not rooted and can't do that.
Also the india vodafone mbn file is from OOS11 oneplus 7T 11.0.0.0 and it works on 11.0.0.2 also.

For sim 1 use this command: EfsTools.exe uploadDirectory -i mcfg_sw.mbn -o / -v
For sim 2 use this command: EfsTools.exe uploadDirectory -i mcfg_sw.mbn -o / -s 1

If it has worked you should see a bunch of output, but no errors. Try rebooting now, and hopefully after it has booted you will have fully functional VoLTE and VoWiFi.

Kleine update op bovenstaande,

Als je een os update krijgt van oneplus moet je bovenstaande herhalen, want het modem profiel wordt dan gereset.

De fout in deze ligt niet bij kon maar bij oneplus. Die hebben gewoon niet het nieuwe profiel toegevoegd in de image van de oneplus 7t. Ik heb deze nu dus uit de image van de 8t gehaald.

Dank Chris maar inmiddels niet meer nodig. Was zo klaar met KPN waarmee het mij maar niet lukte terwijl het bij andere providers welk mogelijk wordt gemaakt met hetzelfde toestel. Ik gebruik nu WiFi bellen via Hollandsnieuwe met Vodafone netwerk en dat werkt perfect op de Oneplus 6.
